S. Camila Carrera earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law in May 2025 and joined Fuerza Immigration Lawyers in November 2025. Prior to joining Fuerza and long before becoming an attorney, Camila demonstrated her passion and commitment to immigrant rights while working as an experienced immigration paralegal from 2018 to 2025. In her role as a paralegal, Camila successfully worked on a variety of cases from beginning to end, including U Visas, Asylum, Cancellation of Removal in Immigration Court, Family Based Petitions, Adjustment of Status, Naturalization, Travel Documents, Work Permits, Waivers, and TPS.
At the University of San Francisco School of Law, Camila participated in the Deportation Clinic and the Immigration Policy Clinic, where she successfully represented clients, with attorney supervision, in obtaining asylum before the Immigration Court. She also led Know Your Rights trainings to community groups, and volunteered countless hours at immigration clinics.
Camila was also President of the Student Immigration Law Association, an organization responsible for engaging with and helping the immigrant community through advocacy work, organized clinics, fundraisers, fostering volunteer opportunities, and network building. Camila also led the Unaccompanied Children Assistance Program (UCAP), which partners with the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office to divert immigrant youth out of the juvenile justice system and into UCAP at USF where youth receive holistic support, including immigration related legal services.
As an Ecuadorian immigrant, Camila is dedicated to being an exceptional legal advocate for her clients who are an integral part of her community. She takes pride in her Latina identity and is honored to join the 3 percent of lawyers identifying as Latina in the United States, and the even smaller percentage of those practicing immigration law.
Camila enjoys dancing, reading, traveling, and making delicious Ecuadorian food in her free time. Most of all, she loves to spend time with her loving friends, family, fiancé, and giant dog, Archie, who offer endless support and inspiration.
